Try Out zipForm Plus Beta and Give Your Feedback

HAR Members are invited to try out the beta test of zipForm Plus, a Java-free web based application with all the essential functions of zipForm 6 Professional, plus an exciting new look and features including:
- Improved workflow, all tools are easily accessible
- Improved Search tools display results in real time
- Customized Email signatures
- Assign photos to transactions, contacts, and profile
- Streamlined transaction list includes zipVault documents with transaction forms
Members are also encouraged to provide their feedback on the next generation of zipForm. To get started, look for the zipForm Plus Beta link inside of your zipForm 6 Professional account. Members can choose to go back to using zipForm 6 Professional at any time during the beta test period.

zipForm 6 Professional: Java Runtime Engine (JRE) Detection Message

As you know the zipForm® 6 Professional application runs on a Java applet. zipLogix always signs applets as a best practice. This informs our users that the applet is from a trusted source and will not cause harm. The Java Runtime Engine (JRE) Detection applet required a digital signing certificate renewal as part of the normal operating process. Your members will be prompted to accept the certificate upon log-in. The members should select the "Always trust content from this publisher" and select Run. They will then be able to continue using zipForm® 6 Professional.
As you are aware, zipLogix will have a new application (currently in an Alpha Test with select zipForm® 6 users) that will no longer require Java and will eliminate this step in the future. |

Proposed Advertising/Business Card Rule Changes Published for Comment

As part of an overall update to the Hawaii Administrative Rules (Chapter 99), the Real Estate Commission (REC) has proposed amendments (not in effect yet). One of proposed amendments pertains to HAR Chapter 99-16-11 (e) relating to advertising and promotional materials. No date has been set for a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed rule changes before it goes into effect. However, members can submit their feedback to HAR using an online form. HAR will compile and send your opinions to the REC on your behalf.

ZipForm 6 Pro Mac Users Being Advised Not to Update Safari

On Thursday evening March 14, 2013 Apple released an update for Mac OS X 10.8 (10.8.3) which included an update to the Safari Browser (6.03). The update to the Safari browser is also available on 10.7 as a separate update. At that time, the new version of Safari deactivated the Java Plugin which caused zipForm 6 Professional to not function properly.
At 1:00 pm EDT, zipLogix sent notifications related to this issue.
At 3:00pm EDT, zipLogix implemented and deployed a solution. For a complete walk-thru regarding the steps to resolve this issue please visit http://support.zipform.com/java.

Notice to ZipForm 6 Pro Users

|
In an email dated February 15, zipLogix warns all zipForm 6 Professional users about Oracle (Java) and Mozilla's (Firefox) plan to release another update on February 19. These updates typically do not cause an interruption in normal software operation. However, with actions recently taken by Apple and Mozilla in January, some users had difficulties accessing zipForm 6 Professional. With the impending updates, there is a possibility that this may happen again. Should such a problem arise, please visit the zipLogix support site about Java for up-to-date details: http://support.zipform.com/java.

This online solution allows REALTORS® to meet with clients online and share documents with anyone, anytime. Attention zipForm® 6 Professional Users
Important Notice Regarding Java
|
|
On Friday, January 11, a security exploit was identified in the third-party application, Java, which is made by Oracle. If you are unable to open your zipForm® 6 transactions from a Windows or Mac operating systems, the Java application may be disabled on your system.
On Monday, January 14, Oracle released an update to Java, which has corrected this exploit. To download this update please visit www.java.com.
Once the update is installed, you will be able to open your zipForm® 6 transactions. To log into your zipForm® 6 Professional account, visit https://www.zipformonline.com/index.asp.

Real Estate Industry Makes Its Mark at REALTOR® Day
|
|
An estimated 55 REALTORS® from across the state converged at the State Capitol on January 9 to meet with legislators about issues of concern for the real estate industry.
REALTORS® spent the day meeting with legislators to reaffirm Hawai'i REALTORS®' opposition to increasing the General Excise Tax, urge their support to make the prohibition of private transfer fees permanent, and take action to clarify the Mandatory Seller Real Property Disclosure law.

HHFDC Announces Hula Mae Down Payment Assistance Program

Down payment assistance may be available for up to 3% of the contract sales price. The simple interest rate for a Mortgage Loan with Downpayment Assistance starts at 3.80% (4.00% APR). Please contact a participating lender for current rates. The maximum term of the loan is 30 years.
A total of 1.25 point (1.25%) is charged on a Hula Mae Loan with Down Payment Assistance. This is a one-time charge.
